Helmkasuaris

The Wanicare Foundation shelter houses more than 75 different animal species. One of these is the helmeted cassowary. These enormous ratites come from the illegal trade and are taken in so that they can be released into the wild. Usually these birds were poached from the wild at a young age and are traded in the illegal circuit via
